Serkan Modali was born on April 25th, 1977 in Istanbul. He spent his childhood and his early teen years in Gallipoli, a sea town of Dardenelles.
Serkan finished his elementary school at Gazi Sulayman Pasa(Gallipoli), secondary school at Findikzade Secondary School (Istanbul), high school at Pertevniyal High School (Istanbul) and Private Bopshorus High School. He graduated with a Business Administration degree from Istanbul University in 2003.
During his high school and university years, he got private guitar and singing lessons and after a few cover band experiences, he started composing and recording his own music.
Serkan as one of the two founders and lead vocalist of rock band ‘Planeur’, released Planeur’s first official album ‘Gelecek’ in December 2011 labeled from Avrupa Muzik. Their first video clip was recorded for song ‘Hersey Bitti’ which was apprised widely within the Turkish music audiences. Planeur attended numerous concerts both in Turkey and abroad.
Serkan is the main contributor to lyrics and composing of all songs in Planeur’s ‘Gelecek’ album. He also was the assistant producer. As the teaser of his upcoming solo album, he started working on the first single song ‘Romeo&Juliet’. Within the process of production of his first single ‘Romeo&Juliet’, Serkan worked with Ozan Esen and Peter Brussee for the recording of his first single in January 2014. He is the producer and arranger of ‘Romeo&Juliet’ with Ozan Esen mixing it at the Power Supply Records studio in Amsterdam/The Netherlands and Peter Brussee doing the mastering at QPoint Digital Audio in Amsterdam/ The Netherlands.
